The APGenco is undertaking significant capacity additions at the Upper and Lower Sileru power houses, including a 1,350 MW Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at Upper Sileru, which will be the largest of its kind in the State.

Currently under execution, the PSP at Upper Sileru comprises nine reversible units of 150 MW each. It will utilise the existing Guntawada and Donkarayi reservoirs as the upper and lower reservoirs respectively. According to senior officials, the PSP represents a critical advancement in modern energy management.
