Citizens and environmental activists gathered outside the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) National Park on Sunday morning, April 26, protesting against the proposed Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project, which envisages a network of flyovers and underpasses around the park.

Raising ‘SaveKBR’ slogans, demonstrators alleged that the project threatens the city’s “last green lung” and is being pushed forward without adequate legal and environmental scrutiny. Several protesters held placards reading ‘The H-CITI project fails the law’ and ‘This isn’t development, this is destruction’.
