Two drug peddlers were arrested in Nalgonda after the Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force in coordination with Nalgonda police, seized 4.5 kilograms of ganja from their possession.

The accused were identified as 25-year-old Syed Majid Hussain, an auto driver, and 21-year-old Mohammad Sohail Ali, a delivery boy, both residents of the Afzalsagar area of Mallepally in Hyderabad.

According to the police, the duo had been supplying ganja in Nalgonda town and nearby Mallepally areas, posing a serious risk to local youth.

Police said that the accused travelled to Odisha multiple times to meet the suppliers and purchased ganja in bulk at low rates and returned to Telangana to sell it in small packets. Three days before their arrest, the two travelled again to Odisha by train, stayed at a lodge on the instructions of their supplier, and collected 4.5 kilograms of ganja from a remote location.

They were apprehended in Nalgonda following a tip-off. The EAGLE Force urged citizens to report information related to drug peddling, consumption or trafficking.
