Gold and cash worth ₹2 lakh stolen from temple

A major theft was reported at the Palakkal Bhagavathi Temple, Thaikkatt, near Guruvayur, on Wednesday where gold ornaments and cash were stolen in the early hours of the day.

According to preliminary reports, around seven sovereigns of gold ornaments, including sacred temple jewellery (thiruvabharanam), and nearly ₹2 lakh kept in the office locker were taken.
