Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) said women’s empowerment should not be politicised, urging all parties to support the proposed Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which seeks 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.

Mr. Dhami’s statement came during a special session of the Uttarakhand Assembly called for a unanimous resolution backing the Centre’s efforts to implement the legislation at the earliest.
