Sukhaputra has warned fireworks units of cancelling their licenses of the units failed to cooperate with the officials during the surprise checks on safety rules violations. Following the two recent fireworks accidents in Vembakottai and Virudhunagar regions in which as many as 29 workers were killed, a team of officials, led by the District Collector took up surprise checks at the fireworks units in Sivakasi, Vembakottai and Virudhunagar Taluks on Saturday (April 25, 2026).
