A 50-year-old woman sustained injuries after a country-made gun accidentally went off on Friday (April 24, 2026). The woman, K. Selvi, is a resident of Pazhanthinnipatti, near Vennandur. Her 17-year-old son, who had discontinued his studies and had been working on their farm, was cleaning a country-made gun – which he had been using to hunt animals – on Friday, when it accidentally went off. His mother, Selvi, who was nearby, sustained injuries to her back and neck.
