BALACHANDAR The fisherfolk community of Rameswaram and nearby areas like Pamban though distressed with the recent arrests of fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy exercised their franchise at the designated polling stations in the Ramanathapuram constituency. With a visible sign of helplessness and resignation, they casted their votes, believing their democratic duty would bring about relief to the long-lasting issue of arrests and seizures.
