A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) driver sustained critical burn injuries after attempting self-immolation in Narsampet town of Warangal district on Thursday (April 23, 2026), leading to tension for some time. The driver, identified as54-year-old K. Shankar Goud, a native of Narsampet and working at the local depot, allegedly poured petrol on himself after taking a bottle from a bag and set himself ablaze in front of the bus depot amid the ongoing agitation. Colleagues who noticed him on fire rushed to his rescue, doused the flames, and shifted him first to a local hospital and later to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital in Warangal.
