Jeyakumar briefing senior officers on security arrangements for Assembly elections in Cuddalore. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT A thick security blanket has been put in place in Cuddalore, Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts in the northern region as comprehensive bandobust arrangements have been made by the police for the smooth conduct of Assembly elections on April 23. Detailed security schemes covering polling stations have been devised in each of the three districts to ensure free and fair polling, maintain law and order and to act swiftly in times of any emergency situation. Manpower strength has been augmented by roping in personnel of the Tamil Nadu Special Police and members of the Home Guards besides non-police personnel on the day of polling.
