The Forest Department was in the efforts to control a fire that was reported near Narasipuram in Coimbatore district on Wednesday evening. As per a statement from the Coimbatore Forest Division, a fire that occurred on the Kerala side spread to the Tamil Nadu side. The fire was reported around two km off Anaikkadu forest camp of the Coimbatore Forest Division.
