The lawns of historic Taramati Baradari came alive on Wednesday afternoon as five buses rolled in, carrying about 250 tribal residents from Gond hamlets in Utnoor town of Adilabad district. Welcomed with the sound of a band, the visitors stepped into the city for what was their first-ever experience of Hyderabad. As families settled in, curiosity about the city began to surface. Kumari Sunita, who had come with her daughter, described her first impressions. “On the outskirts, we saw huge apartments. I kept thinking that my entire village could fit into one of those buildings,” she said.
