A 74-year-old man was beaten to death by history sheeters on Monday (April 20, 2026) evening. S. Rajendran (74), a resident of Nattamangalam near Mettur, was a farm labourer. On Monday around 7 p.m., he went to a tea shop in the locality. At that time, two history sheeters, M. Prakash (35) and M. Kabilan (26), had a verbal duel with Rajendran after he questioned them for smoking near him. During the verbal duel, the duo attacked him with cool drink bottles. In the attack, he sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
