MANJUNATH The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will hold a protest march in the City on April 28 against the government entering into separate memorandum of understanding (MoU) with private medical colleges to allow the latter to offer health services at Taluk hospitals in Bantwal and Belthangady and Community Health Centres in Vitla and Moodbidri. Department of Health and Family Welfare recently signed MoUs with A.J. Institute of Medical Services to allow the latter to offer clinical and diagnostic services at Bantwal Taluk Hospital. Similarly, Alva’s Health Centre Moodbidri, was allowed to offer services at Belthangady Taluk Hospital and Moodbidri Community Health Centre, while the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, was allowed to offer services at Vitla Community Health Centre in Bantwal taluk. The government said the MoUs were signed to increase access and improve quality of healthcare services at the Government healthcare centres.
