A special court in Puducherry sentenced a man to 10 years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh in a drug trafficking case. Special Public Prosecutor for Narcotics Control Bureau R. Praveen Kumar said that the NCB, Chennai Zonal Office, arrested S. Ramadas under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in 2003. Upon conclusion of the trial, the court sentenced the accused to undergo 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh for the offence.
