The police have arrested two persons for allegedly breaking open a temple hundial and stealing cash in Pulianthope.

According to the police, Gajendran, 55, a resident of Ashtabujam Road in Pulianthope, manages the Arulmigu Sriperiyapalayathamman Temple located near his house. He locked the temple on Sunday night and returned the next morning only to find the main door broken open. On inspection, he found that the temple hundial had been forced open and the offerings made by devotees had been stolen.
