Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated an Electric Receiving Sub-Station (RSS) at Park Street in Central Delhi to provide continuous and reliable power supply to key routes of the Delhi metro and strengthen its services.

Ms. Gupta said the sub-station has been developed using advanced technology, and its completion within 18 months is a significant achievement.

The RSS has been developed in a manner that ensures Delhi metro lines do not face any power-related issues and the services continue to operate without interruption, said the Chief Minister’s Office.

The government’s objective is to expand the existing metro network as a key mode of public transport, Ms. Gupta said, adding that work on new corridors will commence soon. She said the government will continue to provide financial and administrative support for metro expansion.

The CM said the inauguration of the RSS is another important example of the government’s commitment to safe, modern and sustainable infrastructure for the Delhi metro.
