The Director General of Police (DGP)/Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Abhay Kumar Singh is retiring from service on Saturday as he attains age of superannuation. Mr. Singh is 1992-batch IPS officer and began the service as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Thoothukudi- Sub-Division. In his 33-years of service, he held various positions. He also held the DGP (Law and Order in charge) briefly. At Rajarathinam Stadium, the police department held a farewell parade on Friday to honour his service. He was greeted by DGPs G.Venkataraman, Seema Agrawal, Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A.Arun and other officers.
