Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan visited the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) on Thursday and inspected the animal enclosures. He also enquired about the facilities being extended to the animals.

He toured the Butterfly Park and appreciated the dedicated efforts taken for butterfly conservation.

IGZP Curator G. Mangamma briefed Mr. Pawan Kalyan on the zoo’s animal collection, veterinary care facilities, zoo education programmes, rich flora and fauna, and upcoming projects aimed at enhancing visitor experience and strengthening conservation efforts.

She shared the details of the animal enrichment and developmental activities.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan also adopted two giraffes for a year, on the occasion of his mother Anjana Devi’s birthday. He announced that he would bear the entire annual maintenance cost.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, (HoFF), Dr. P. V. Chalapathi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife & HRD), Shanti Priya Pandey, Chief Conservator of Forests, Visakhapatnam, B. Mohamed Diwan Mydeen, and others were present.
