Passengers demand Vande Bharat Express between Chennai and Thanjavur

The Cauvery Delta Train Passengers’ Association has sought the introduction of a Vande Bharat Express Train between Chennai and Thanjavur. It has also sought the introduction of Chengol Express from Thanjavur to New Delhi. 

Association secretary V. Jeevakumar submitted a memorandum to Southern Railway General Manager R.N. Singh during his inspection at the Thanjavur railway junction on Sunday with a list of demands from passengers in the region.

Operation of a superfast express train between Thanjavur and Chennai; extension of the Howrah-Tiruchi Express to Velankanni; operation of electric trains between Tiruchi and Thanjavur every one hour were among the other demands in the list.
