Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav on Wednesday gave the go-ahead for conducting 47 medical tests for people identified in surveys as having lifestyle diseases, or at risk of developing them. According to a press release from the department on Wednesday, in the recent non-communicable diseases (NCD) survey, 56,40,000 people were identified as having different types of disease. In addition to them, the number also includes students of residential welfare schools.
