All arrangements are in place at 2,379 polling booths, including 73 vulnerable booths, across eight Assembly constituencies in the district for the conduct of the Assembly election on Thursday (April 23, 2026). The poll process will begin with mock polling at 5.30 a.m. in all booths in the presence of booth agents. As many as 50 votes will be cast in each booth during the mock poll to verify the functioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) units. A mock poll certificate will then be issued by the presiding officer.
