Youth dies in vehicle collision near Maduravoyal

A 24-year-old man riding a two-wheeler died after being hit by a tanker truck carrying spirit near Maduravoyal in the early hours of Saturday. The police arrested the truck driver and registered a case.

The police said the victim has been identified as M. Vignesh, 24, a resident of Naduvankarai in Anna Nagar and worked as a carpenter. Around 1:30 a.m., after finishing work, Vignesh was returning home on his motorcycle. When he reached the Krishna Nagar junction on Alapakkam Main Road, close to Maduravoyal, a tanker lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with his bike. Vignesh was thrown off the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries leading to his death.
