Protests in Noida were few and scattered on Tuesday even as domestic workers joined their agitating factory counterparts in demanding higher wages and improved working conditions. The demand comes amid escalating unrest in Delhi-NCR’s manufacturing hubs since last week.

Empty lanes and an eerie silence prevailed across large parts of Noida following Monday’s protests that turned violent, with incidents of arson and stone-pelting reported from several areas.
