Minister for MSME and NRI affairs Kondapalli Srinivas said that Vizianagaram would witness rapid industrial progress very soon as the State government had accepted around ₹10,000 crore worth of investments recently. 

Speaking to The Hindu, he said that Super Smelters Limited Company would invest around ₹8,570 crores for its steel plant to be set up in Gurla mandal of the district. The Minister said that the government was encouraging many new entrepreneurs to set up agro-based industries also in the district.

“Three Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Parks would come up in the district very soon. The government is keen to create employment locally with the support of MSME parks. The tourism and hospitality sectors will also get the required impetus from the government in the backdrop of the upcoming international airport at Bhogapuram,” said Mr. Srinivas.

He assured that the government would support the investors with the creation of required infrastructure, such as roads, electricity, dedicated water supply, and others, for the quick establishment of new industries in the district.
