Police sources said vehicle checks had been intensified from Sunday onwards at check posts and other prominent spots as part of heightened security measures. Police sources said Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad of the Tiruchi City Police have been put on alert and would carry out anti-sabotage checks at bus stands and other key spots. Around 600 police personnel are to be deployed for security till Monday evening. The Railway Protection Force, in coordination with the Government Railway Police, carried out anti-sabotage checks at Tiruchi railway junction on Sunday in view of the Republic Day celebration.
