File | Photo Credit: PTI A writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking an inquiry by the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) and the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs into alleged material discrepancies in the assets declared by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin during the 2021 Legislative Assembly polls and for the elections scheduled to be held on April 23 this year. The petition has been listed for hearing before the first Division Bench of Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan on Wednesday (April 15, 2026). R. Kumaravel, 56, a resident of Chepauk-Triplicane Assembly constituency, from where Mr. Udhayanidhi is contesting for the second consecutive time, had filed the writ petition.
