The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has claimed that the candidates of the United Democratic Front (UDF) will win all the 13 seats in Kozhikode district. IUML Kozhikode district general secretary T.T. Ismail told the media that there was no doubt about victory in nine seats. In the remaining constituencies, though there had been a tough fight, the front would sail through. He also claimed that Fathima Thahiliya, IUML nominee and UDF candidate from Perambra, would trounce T.P. Ramakrishnan of the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Mr. Ismail also alleged that the LDF resorted to communal tactics during the campaign in the constituency.
