File | Photo Credit: Sushil Kumar Verma The Coimbatore police have announced traffic diversions in select areas of the city from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday (April 18, 2026) in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. Mr. Modi will attend a public meeting to campaign for the NDA candidates contesting in the Assembly election. Buses and heavy vehicles from the Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur areas are prohibited from entering the city through Avinashi Road via Airport junction (SITRA). These vehicles should enter the city by taking a diversion from Neelambur to L&T bypass and pass via Chinthamanipudur junction, Ondipudur, and Singanallur.
