Personnel of the Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams seized cash, liquor, drugs and narcotic substances amounting to ₹89,48,343 without valid documents at various places in the seven Assembly constituencies in Villupuram district as on April 17. The Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams were constituted in each Assembly constituency from the time the Model Code of Conduct came into effect after the Election Commission of India announced the date of the Assembly election for Tamil Nadu.
