Three newly-married couples in the Ponneri and Gummidipoondi constituencies of Tiruvallur district went to their polling booths to fulfil their democratic duty on Thursday. The three couples, still dressed up in wedding finery, visited their polling booths to cast their votes. In the Ponneri Assembly constituency of the Tiruvallur district, S. Subash, a software engineer at an information technology company, left for the panchayat middle school at Ariyanvoyal in Minjur to cast his vote, after marrying Ramya of Korukkupet. Emerging from the polling booth, Subhash said he was accompanying his wife to Korukkupet, where for her to vote.
