An award ceremony organised by the Nellickal Muraleedharan Foundation witnessed some tense scenes after a group of alleged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers attempted to disrupt a speech by noted Malayalam poet Kureepuzha Sreekumar. The incident took place on Saturday (April 25, 2026) while the poet was addressing the gathering after receiving the award instituted by the foundation. The award was presented by critic K.S. Ravikumar at a function held at the Pathanamthitta Town Hall.
