Telangana’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) on Thursday (January 29, 2026) carried out a coordinated operation across multiple districts to trace and arrest drug suppliers who had been absconding in various narcotics cases registered at different police stations in the State.

Acting on specific intelligence, special teams were formed and simultaneous raids were conducted at several locations, leading to the apprehension of 12 accused from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda, Siddipet, Karimnagar, Khammam and Wanaparthy. All the accused had been evading arrest since the registration of their respective cases and were traced after sustained surveillance by EAGLE and the local police units.

The arrested persons include 24-year-old Naeeni Sai Akshith, and 24-year-old Malluri Yashwanth, both from the Malkajgiri Commissionerate. From Cyberabad, 34-year-old Ambaripeta Ashwin Kumar, a freelance hotel manager from Boduppal, and 22-year-old Syed Shahed, a worker from Puppalaguda, were taken into custody.

In the Hyderabad limits, the Task Force apprehended 33-year-old Vedanth Guptha, a businessman from Somajiguda; 27-year-old Rishab Chandgothia, a businessman from Old Bowenpally, and 39-year-old Shaik Khaja Fareeduddin, a senior representative from Hi Tech City.

From Siddipet, 25-year-old Mohammed Sameer Khan, a goods vehicle driver from Gajwel, was arrested, while 26-year-old Durgam Krishna Kumar, a centring worker from Rekurthi, was apprehended in Karimnagar. In Khammam, 26-year-old Dubbakula Ramakrishna, a mason from Penuballi, and 28-year-old Shaik Kasim, a carpenter from Rebbavaram in Wyra, were taken into custody. From Wanaparthy, 23-year-old Palem Vinay, employed in the private sector and residing at Bhagath Singh Nagar, was arrested.

The Police said medical screening and counselling were conducted for the accused in the presence of their family members, wherever required, before they were handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation.

Officials said that the operation was carried out by EAGLE in coordination with the Task Force, the Regional Narcotics Control Cells and local police units, as part of a sustained drive to track down suppliers who had been on the run in multiple drug-related cases across the State.
