Within Hyderabad, Nalla Cheruvu and Pragathi Nagar in Kukatpally, along with Shamirpet lake (in pic), have been identified for water-based tourism. | Photo Credit: NAGARA GOPAL The Telangana Tourism department has prepared an extensive plan to expand boating and water-based tourism across the State, proposing new boating units at 12 locations spanning both rural and urban regions. According to a note, Khammam district has emerged as a key focus area under recent budget allocations. The identified sites include Inyadhramma Cheruvu in Buchireddypalem, Madhira, and Vyra Cheruvu in Vyra. Paleru Cheruvu in Khammam has also been taken up as part of the initiative. Additionally, the prominent religious and tourist destination of Parnasala in Bhadrachalam has been included in the expansion plan.
