The members of Progressive Recognised Teachers Union Andhra Pradesh (PRTU-A.P.) have submitted a petition to the State government seeking immediate resolution of their legitimate demands. Along with the local teachers, they staged a protest at Prakasam Bhavan in Ongole on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media about their demands, PRTU Prakasam district president Narahari Anjireddy said, “Service rules should be formulated for teachers across the State. A new Pay Revision Committee (PRC) should be formed and 30 per cent interim relief should be granted. The Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) should be abolished and the old pension system (OPS) should be restored.”
