The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday (April 27, 2026) has condemned the disruption of a stand-up performance by comedian Sarat Uday in Bengaluru, describing the incident as inconsistent and undemocratic.

State president Palla Srinivasa Rao said any objections to expression must be addressed through due process rather than by taking matters into one’s own hands. He said such actions distracted from substantive issues and urged party workers to maintain discipline and avoid confrontational behaviour, to preserve the party’s credibility.
