A total of 80.24% of polling was recorded on April 23 in the eight Assembly Constituencies in Thanjavur District and 83.02 per cent in the four Assembly Segments in Tiruvarur district. According to official sources, Thiruvaiyaru recorded the highest turnout of 84.74% in Thanjavur district with Orathanadu segment recording 82.63 per cent, followed by Peravurani 81.70, Kumbakonam 80.82, Thiruvidaimaruthur 79.93, Papanasam 79.78, Thanjavur 77.22, and Pattukottai 75.21%.
