Coming to the rescue of a senior citizen suffering from cancer, the Supreme Court on Thursday (April 30, 2026) asked the Allahabad High Court to grant an urgent hearing to his plea regarding pension and post-retiral benefits that has been pending for the last nine years.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi asked the High Court to consider the 77-year-old man’s case on a sympathetic basis and give an out-of-turn hearing.
