Residents of three city zones will not receive piped water supply for 24 hours from 10 a.m. on January 30 as Chennai Metro Rail Limited will carry out pipeline interconnection works on Uthamar Gandhi Salai, Nungambakkam. A press release from Chennai Metrowater said, areas including Choolaimedu, T. Nagar, Saidapet, Thousand Lights, and CIT Colony, falling under Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar will not receive piped water supply between 10 a.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Residents have been advised to store water in advance and also book mobile tanker supply for any immediate needs. However, Metrowater will continue to provide street supply and fill street tanks.
