File | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT The Special Investigation Team on Thursday (January 29, 2026) served a notice on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at his residence in Nandigiri in connection with the phone tapping case, asking him to appear for examination as part of the ongoing investigation. The notice, issued by Assistant Commissioner of Police P. Venkatagiri of the Jubilee Hills Division, states that K. Chandrashekar Rao (71) is acquainted with facts and circumstances relevant to the case registered at Panjagutta police station and that his examination is necessary for further investigation. He has been asked to make himself available on January 30, 2026 (Friday) at 3 p.m. In view of his age and in compliance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, he is not required to compulsorily attend the Police Station. The SIT has given him the option to either appear voluntarily at the Jubilee Hills Police Station or specify any other location within Hyderabad that is convenient, where the investigation team will conduct the examination at the scheduled time.
