The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Andhra Pradesh State committee strongly opposed the use of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, as the venue for centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In a statement on Wednesday, SFI State president P. Rammohan Rao and State secretary K. Prasanna Kumar said such programmes violate constitutional and secular values. Taking objection to “allowing a communal organisation’s event inside an educational institution”, they said it was unacceptable. They demanded immediate cancellation of the RSS event which began on Wednesday and will continue till January 30 at the SPA. The leaders alleged that the SPA management, without consulting the students, granted permission for the event and abruptly preponed field visits, deviating from the academic calendar 2025-26.
