The Kerala State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the Director, National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C), to submit a comprehensive report within two weeks on the allegation that officials at the institution had tried to protect a teaching assistant who had been accused of sexually assaulting a postgraduate (PG) student. The order was issued by the Commission’s judicial member K. Baijunath on Monday (April 27). The case will be heard at a sitting scheduled in Kozhikode on May 29.
