Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel seized 32 grams of gold coins from a 45-year-old man at the Perambur railway station on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) after he failed to produce valid documents during election surveillance ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. The man, identified as Balamurugan, 45, a resident of Madhavaram, was detained by a special RPF election squad during a patrol on platform 1 at the Perambur railway station. Officers searched his bag on suspicion and found gold coins without supporting documents.
