In response to the scorching temperatures in Punalur, one of the hottest locations in Kerala, the municipality has launched free buttermilk distribution centres to provide relief to the public. Starting Friday, distribution points were opened at the KSRTC Bus Station and Post Office Junction. To maintain a natural coolness, buttermilk is stored in clay pots, with dedicated staff appointed to manage its distribution. The centres have already seen hundreds of residents seeking relief from the heat.
