The chairs have to conduct programmes with the interest earned from the amount. When we look at the current status of the chairs, we find that each has a different fixed amount. While some chairs have a capital of ₹5 lakh, others have been given a capital of up to ₹5 crore. There is no uniformity in the amount of capital given to chairs, and this disparity should be eliminated,” the committee proposed.
