For Yashodha (25), living a normal life, marriage, and motherhood was a dream which she thought she would never get to live as she was diagnosed with HIV at birth. However, that has changed, seven-month pregnant Yashodha says, “I have a purpose in my life now. I spent my entire life in an orphanage as a child, and now I will be having a family. I am stress-free that my child will be HIV negative.”

Yashodha, who is a Pregnant woman living with HIV (PLHIV), felt confident after the Parbhani-based organisation Homoeopathic Academy of Research and Charities (HARC) explained the medical treatment, childcare, and precautions to be taken by HIV-positive women. HARC, with the aim of creating awareness that children born to HIV-positive mothers can be healthy (HIV Negative), organised a baby shower ceremony on Sunday (April 12, 2026) for Yashodha and another HIV-affected pregnant mother, Pallavi.
