With the voter roll mapping exercise under way in the State ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), a Bengaluru voter received a notice asking her to identify her “correct electoral details”. The notice listed 103 entries of women named Nagalakshmi across Karnataka, all recorded as wives of men named Manjunath, with photographs showing different individuals.

The notice issued by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) grouped all these entries under “Nagalakshmi, wife of Manjunath” and asked the recipient to identify her correct electoral details, even though the list had different individuals.
