File | Photo Credit: Sudhakara Jain The Madras High Court on Thursday (April 16, 2026) dismissed a case filed by film actor Tamannaah Santhosh Bhatia seeking damages of ₹1 crore from Puducherry-based Power Soaps Limited for having allegedly continued to use her photographs on soap wrappers and promotional materials even after the expiry of the agreement for being its brand ambassador. A Division Bench of Justices P. Velmurugan and K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi rejected an original side appeal filed by Ms. Bhatia in 2018 challenging the dismissal of her 2011 civil suit by a single judge of the High Court on April 17, 2017. The Bench did not find any reason to interfere with dismissal of the civil suit, with costs, by Justice T. Ravindran (since retired from service).
