Lakshmana on Sunday countered criticism by BJP MLC A. H. Vishwanath over the SSLC results in the State, and said the party would soon felicitate teachers and officials of the Education Department for the “record” performance of students in Mysuru district. Addressing a press conference in Mysuru, Mr. Lakshmana took exception to Mr. Vishwanath’s scepticism over the high pass percentage despite alleged shortages of teaching staff, and said the results reflected the “hard work” of teachers, headmasters, Block Education Officers (BEOs) and the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) in the district.
