Hundreds of BJP supporters homeless in violence post TTAADC result

Hundreds of BJP supporters have been rendered homeless as Tipra Motha cadres allegedly unleashed targeted attacks in hills and interior areas of the State. Several houses were set on fire, BJP party offices were vandalised and vehicles damaged in a series of attacks over the past two days.

State’s DGP Anurag on Sunday (April 19, 2026) warned of stringent actions against the perpetrators and said security forces have been deployed to restore order. He also informed about the arrest of some accused wanted in connection with recent violence.
